EMPOWERING COMMUNITIES
Supply Chain of Alusha’s Shop
Customer: Your business is new. What does your supply chain look like right now?
Alusha: My business is small and just getting started, so my supply chain is simple. Right now, I purchase most of my natural ingredients from one organic farm. The farm has people who carefully extract essential oils, dry flowers, and produce the oils used in my products.
Customer: Why did you choose an organic farm?
Alusha: I want my business to have a positive impact on both people and the environment. Purchasing from an organic source helps me reduce my reliance on products grown with harmful chemicals while supporting a farm and the workers who make these ingredients possible.
Customer: What other materials do you use?
Alusha: I use clay that comes from France, and I currently purchase Epsom salt at wholesale prices. I also use reusable glass bottles and jars that I purchase wholesale. Glass is important to me because it can be reused and helps reduce the amount of single-use packaging in my supply chain.
Customer: Do you plan to change your supplies as the business grows?
Alusha: Absolutely. My long-term goal is to use higher-quality, finer salts, even though they will increase my costs and product prices. I also want to find more organic and responsibly sourced materials as my business expands.
Customer: What is your vision for the next twenty years?
Alusha: I want Alusha’s Shop to develop an ethical and environmentally responsible supply chain. Over the next twenty years, I hope to create jobs, support organic producers, and strengthen local and sustainable economies. I want the people involved in my supply chain to benefit from the growth of
my business.
Customer: So sustainability is part of your long-term business plan?
Alusha: Yes. My goal is to build a business that is good for customers, workers, communities, and the environment. I want every step—from sourcing ingredients to packaging—to become more sustainable as Alusha’s Shop grows.
